Smartwears - Whats All The Rave About.

Smartwears from the major tech companies have been making the headlines more often than not lately so we decided to talk about them a bit. Smartwears  range from pedometers to fitness trackers to watches to full on watch/phone. So what can they do? Lets jump right into it.
Most smartwatches today run on Android wear and as such they can perform a wide range of functions by connecting to an android cellphone, these include getting notifications from your applications like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other apps. They can also take your phone calls since they have mics, so you don't need to take your phone out of your pocket.

Smartwatches also function as fitness trackers and can act as pedometers heart rate monitors etc. Some even have functions that can help you locate your phone if for example you've lost it in your room. They also alert you when you have forgotten your phone behind, say in coffee shop.

Something i really enjoy about smartwatches is that they are highly customizable, making it possible for you to use a wide range of watch faces, i even saw one with a G-Shock watch face and it was really cool.

For now the choices of smartwatches are pretty few and they include the LG G watch R, the Sony Smartwatch 3, the Samsung gear S, the Moto 360 and the Pebble smartwatch. My personal favorite is the Moto 360, i really like its clean circular design, but that's just me.
Right now these smartwatches retail for about $150 to $250 which i think is pretty steep for a watch. So what do you think? Do we need smartwatches?, Are they grossly over priced? or Do they still have a very long way to go, tell us what you think.
